Stephen Steinberg,(born 1960),a doctor by profession,took up photography to record a working visit to a mission hospital in Kwazulu Natal in 1982.
Since then,using a large format camera,he has produced a portfolio of hand coloured/toned silver gelatin landscape photographs from the Alps to New Zealand.
In the past couple of years,he has turned to still life,inspired by the great Natural History artists of the past,finding beauty in the detail,form and colour of the natural world.
He has been represented by the Lupe gallery.
